i am back from OBS
haha
no mozzie nor sandfly bites
thanks to army repellant

very tired but i am happy that i went to OBS
haha

shall talk abt it

Day 1 5th of march

today we met our instructor Elgene (EL). she calls herself chio bu haha.
my group is called
WASHINGTON
wow
at first i was really amazed by the names of the groups like elizibeth choy, sui sen, boo seng, tock seng
haha
it all seems weird but oh wells. oh wells
and then i was being ery responsive while everyone was like sian sian liddat
then so the instructor noes my name first
then she gave me the responsibility to ask everyone to sign a commitment book to be enthusiastic and have fun during OBS ok lor
anything lar...
then i think this bok is actually quite good. haha

then we had some ice breaking activities to get to know each other better
oh ya
i am grouped with the GEPers
oh wells
they are quite nice ppl wat

then we took a tour around camp 1
wow
lucky in camp 1
i heard the ppl in camp 2 suffer alot lol
then we went to the store to check equipment
actually i think that the OBS compound is very beautiful haha... then we went to the cook house
wow man
the food is like heaven
1st time eat so nice camp food
wow...
then we do this activity called the trust fall where we had to work as a group to hold a canvas sheet and let our frens fall on it. it reequires alot of trust as it can be quite scary if u fall on the groud. then we learn how to put on the harness and lean to belayer each other. then we learnt some map reading skills and actually it was quite the boring lar.
then after dinner had a 1st aid tok then suddenly got fire drill

but then managed to sleep

day one is abt ok ok day lar
not relli interesting but also not that boring

Day 2 6th march
the fun and challenging activities surfaced. our group had a chance to climb indiana

so cool man
i went onto the higher element which was to climb out and walk across a unstable bridge called the jacobs ladder. wow the fingers got lots of exercise sia
the ropes can cause rope burn one leh
haha
tired sia
wow
when i reach the top
i rellay felt like quitting

legs turn jelly can
scary sia.
i remebered in p4 when i went to sparck c the junior obs thingy wow
i so scared that i cried and then realise i was afraid of heights
so this time round i try the thing
and guess wat
i overcomed my fear of heights

i cross the ladder and felt so accomplished and so 激动 that i cried

then i decend and jane help me to crack my knuckles along the way
haha
then we had a lunch

first time i eat so much
then we go practice kayaking
capsize is so fun man
so cool haha

annabelle shoe the whole of the bottom drop off
then it became nike flat which looked like water shoes
so cool man
her soles were floating in the water after we capsize haha
then later we hike our way to camp 2
its darn rural can

but we persevere

day 3 7th march

today
we had a challenged called "up high mountain, down fire sea". this challenge includes land and sea
we were suppose to build a raft out os poles and blue pins
which our group sucided cause i did it in the junior camp so i shared my experience with my team mates
we managed to get it done and raft it out at sea
haha
but then one of the blue bins never tie properly and therfore i fell into the sea
wow darn cool can
i like fell onto the pole
butt pain but oh wells haha
sadly annabelle fell in
oh wells
nvm
i managed to pull her up lor
lol.
after that in the afternoon
we did the up high mountain part
which we track for 8 plus km
wow
my leg not pain
but my sole very pain
cause of the sharp rocks
must thank coach for trning my muscles
lol

the shoulder quite pain lar...
lol
the bag is super heavy
but i think all was worth it when we went to the highest point of pulau ubin and saw the quarry
woah darn nice

made a wish there

and then we went to our campsite for the night which was at macho...

didnt expect it to be just a empty piece of land
no toilet
1st time nvr bath can
wow
so smelly
but of course got powder bath lar..

in the tent in the dark

then go and pee in the open at sea
me and my frens were darn cool
we squat in 1 row
butt facing the sea

ohya
and at night we were suppose to patrol the area so that the stray dogs will not come and attack

darn scary
cause while patolling the dog tried to attack one of the tents
we busy banging the sticks and poles.
wow darn tired for the day
cuase i just fell onto the tent and slept
couldnt even hear the person next to me snoring like the thunder

but at night when u listen everything like become very loud

Day 4 8th of March
wow today
woke up at 5.15
so that we could get ready and set off early for our sea experdition
whoo its one challenging day man
kayaking through the river sea swamp and mud
tiring for the hand but again must thank coach for the trning

my hand wasnt aching like my frens
haha
hmms
i was partnered with annabelle and heeai
sitting at the back
its the most tiring thing man
its like u do most of the worl but without the other 2 i also wont succeed haha
then we three didnt want to jump into the sea and pee so pee on the triyak lor
but of course got wash away lar
haha
i bet everyone did the same lor
how can no one pee
haha
then we had the help of the safety from our instructors elgene andy and alex
haha
alex is super farni
haha
he was like before the tracking activity he said sth like
please dont walk on the road as if its jalan limpeh
then i was the only one laughing cause i caught the joke and others were like wat is he toking abt har
haha
and aniwar got seasick but that smell the orange so ok le
annabelle stuff the orange skin uo her nose not because of sea sick but it smell nice lol

ate lots of stuff with dirty hands but lucky no stomach ache
haha

then we kayak until we ended at 4
so pro
we expected to end at 6 plus
if stuck maybe 8
but
well
we got so great a teamwork

then because of today
i felt that obs rocks rocks rocks and its relli relli fun man

i have 4 tan colours on my leg
so gross can
i think i will be wearing jeans for quite a while
but at least is better then the arm got 2 very obvious tan cause of the unifoam that we are gonna wear haha

relli darn tired but we didnt need to pitch tent today
sleep in the multi purpose hall
used guo shu poncho as blanket but was stolen by hee ai in the middel of the night

Day 5 9th march
last day of OBS
haha
relli a life time experience and having great instructors to help us along the way
relli is memorable sia
then we had a last game to inculcate the values that we have learnt for OBS
suppose to blind fold everyone then walk to one tree to another
its fun
but kindoff scary
haha
cause i was the leader and then is like i had to kick stuff away and everyoen was rellying on me to make sure they are safe
haha
but then i was the only one knowing how to move and the rest were just following blindly
haha
elgene was hoping that we could but in wat we have learnt but then we didnt relli do it but oh wells
at least we learn sth again
i learnt that
1 leader is open to ideas
2 cooperation is impportant
3 everyone must have a fair share of work
4 responsibility
5 sacrifice is very important especially to do the 'dirty work' liek cleaning toilets
6 to make things easy and fun and enjoyable u must be enthu
7 have fun with whatever u are doing
haha
OBS has relli been a great experience for me and i am sure i wil never forget it haha
i hope that i can go back someday as each time i go there i learn sth new
haha

i shall just say that it was worth going to OBS although i miss home alot lol
haha

P.S. i cried on the last day cause i miss OBS so much especially on the jetty when i leaving
so paiseh
but oh wells
i miss elgene andy and alex
there are pure rockers
kickass haha

this will be a memory that will last a life time
